We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our dynamic and innovative Karen Millen design team. You will be responsible for designing and building ranges across the softs department. You'll be able to monitor the commercial potentials of the designs and create products that are innovative and creative. This role is based out of our central London office in the heart of Soho and will be working directly with our Design Director.

What you'll be doing
Deliver balanced and extensive design research e.g. using directional shopping, fabric fairs, catwalk awareness to create unique standout product lines that are customer focused.Monitor/evaluate the commercial potential of designs within your area and articulate key shapes and volume lines.Have a confident approach to trading, adapting your forward ranges to maximise sales and new learnings accordingly.Responsible for the creation of concept board/packs for design presentations ensuring all research/items are sourced to represent key messages.Use your seasonal research to drive commercial and innovative fabric sourcing into price arch.Create technical packs consistent for suppliers to translate. Wide technical knowledge utilised to support the technical team to create best fit garments reflecting relevant blocks.Liaise with peers within the Buying and Merchandising teams to fully support the overall delivery of a profitable and commercial range whilst helping to drive a wider awareness of trend and innovation through the business.Travel to our supplier bases in Europe, India and the Far East for seasonal sourcing of key fabric and new opportunities and ideas.Take ownership of the category, ensuring your product is available for all look book/campaigns and ecommerce shoots.Working with us

Proven experience within a previous design role (softs-product- ideally).Outstanding commercial awareness and comprehensive understanding of womenswear trends.Exceptional communication skills, capable of working with other product teams and external suppliers to build productive relationships.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.Comfortable working at pace.
