The role You will be the Lead Engineer and client technical point of contact on new designs/builds for use in offshore oil and gas environments.
Working to client specifications & regulatory standards, you will: Create engineering calculation packages to validate designs using hand calculations and FEA software (topside and subsea structures) Liaise with vendors to select components (pumps/motors/gearboxes etc) for products and validate selection with calculations Generate 3D concept designs based on client specification Review and approve fabrication/manufacture/assembly drawings Lead design reviews with internal and external parties Generate test procedures and operation manuals for equipment Mentor junior team members Experience/Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5 years experience in design role Experience in design of fabricated structures for offshore/subsea environment to DNV standards Experience using modelling software (preferably Solidworks and AutoCAD) Experience using FEA software for stress analysis (preferably Solidworks or ANSYS) Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic drive systems advantageous Knowledge of subsea controls systems advantageous Knowledge of ATEX and design of equipment for hazardous area advantageous In addition to the benefits above, you'll play an integral part in the growth of an ambitious and agile organisation, as well as having significant progression opportunities.
