Senior Design Consultant- Front Bumper AssemblyBody& Chassis6 Month ContractOutside IR35*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.
*Essential Criteria:Front bumper Assembly x 1 head (1 piece main that is common between sport and touring, new splitters, new bumper upper strip, + mesh)Professional Experience in Body Design & CompositesCreate, deliver & lead complete design proposals according to design brief and project constraints in assigned programs using CATIA v.5Produce creative detailed design solutions fulfilling complex technical criteria.Prepare presentation material for reviews.Participate in exterior design reviews.Attend project and engineering meetings.3D package modelling.Design Sizing Analysis.Sub system load analysis.Support DFMEA.Support DVP & Report.Support DFM and DFA.GD&T / RPS Location and Measurement Support.Working Knowledge of Legal and Legislative Requirements.Nice to Have Criteria:Deliver design proposals according to design brief and project constraints in assigned programs using CATIA v.5/v.6Produce creative detailed design solutions fulfilling complex technical criteria.Body packaging, concept studies and detailed design, including sizing calculations and use of CAD / CAE to create viable sectionsLead and support of design activities carried out in-house and at suppliers if requiredBuild support (prototype and production)Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standardsSupporting problem solving activities during virtual and physical buildsAssess all engineering prototypes to determine any associated issues or risks, mitigating when, and where foundResearch whether the design is feasible, functional and cost-effectiveEstimate cost limits and budgets for new designRepresent the department in design reviews and during test and development activities if requiredDesign components to the lowest feasible weightEnsure components and assemblies adhere to applicable internal, industry, business and where applicable legislative standards and requirements.Co-ordinate own design work to deliver timely design releases and meeting all design for manufacture input from supplier(s)Develop and specify GD&T data set on CAD models or drawings, taking into account all inputs from parts suppliers, assembly processes and dimensional management studiesCreating presentation material for Design ReviewsProducing detailed manufacturing drawingsMaintain and manage engineering records and designsWhy work through Contechs?Contechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
