Job summary Band 5 - Senior Dental Nurse, Decontamination and Compliance Lead - Permanent - Internal applicants only Hours - hrs per week working 5 days from - between Monday - Friday Base - TBC Berkshire Community Dental Service is looking to recruit a part/full time senior dental nurse, working 4/5 days a week, with a responsibility for being the decontamination and compliance lead for the service.
This role will be in addition to your clinical duties, spending one day a week focusing on this.
You will be work closely with and be supported by the senior dental officers for decontamination and medical devices.
The senior dental nurse will join an enthusiastic and skilled workforce with a great team spirit.
The service has 7 clinics ranging from Thatcham to Langley and over 40 members of staff.
The service treats patients with additional needs including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly.
Your base will be decided upon appointment, but you will also work at other clinics, the hospitals where we undertake general anaesthetic sessions and in the domiciliary setting.
It is therefore essential that you can drive, have a UK driving licence and a car for travel between clinics and hospitals.

National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare.
Previous experience as a Dental nurse within Berkshire Community Dental service.
Additional/higher level decontamination and/or compliance training.
Have a car and driving licence.
Good communication skills.
A team player.
Experience with dental software and general IT skills.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare Registered with the General Dental Council Training Essential Evidence of continuing professional development Evidence of training in dental sedation Additional evidence of higher level training in dental decontamination and/or compliance training Previous Experience Essential To have worked as part of a dental team, general practice, hospital, other CDS providing chair side duties Experience working with children, the elderly, medically compromised patients and learning disabilities.
