About Relay: Relay is a warehouse-to-doorstep delivery network purpose-built to scale to the demands of e-commerce. We help the most important retailers in the UK (with global expansion on our roadmap) to deliver faster, more affordably, and more sustainably than existing solutions. As a highly-operational business, we rely on data to guide everything we do. We are a small but mighty team that work on everything from operations research to optimise thousands of parcel deliveries daily, to detailed business metrics that drive our expansion and investment decisions, and everything in between.
We are investing heavily in our data team, and are looking for a motivated (mid-level to senior-level) Data Analyst to work closely with our Operational Teams and Data Scientists to support the development of key data products and optimise our on-the-ground operations.
In this role, you will: Work closely with operational teams to inform, automate and optimise decision-making, using data and advanced analytics & statistics to inform the strategic direction of the team and company.
Collaborate with Data Scientists to support the maintenance, and guide the development of key data products used in the business (e.g. forecasts, optimisation algorithms, predictive models)
Design experiments and measure the impact of process changes
Provide structure and challenge to core business problems
Develop and maintain dashboards for key operations enabling daily monitoring and diagnostics.
Design and implement descriptive data products that enable targeted action.
Work alongside our engineering team to surface accurate and well-structured data to enable your analysis and reporting.
Define best practices in analytics, data visualisation and dashboarding, joining the data team in educating Relay's 'citizen data analysts' to ensure rigour across the company.
Get hands-on! You will see the results of your analysis in action by spending time at our sortation warehouse and delivering parcels.

We are looking for candidates who: Have a degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative or applied discipline.
3+ years experience as a data analyst or another relevant role.
Proven theoretical knowledge and application of advanced analytics and statistics to real-world or business problems that derive actionable insights and recommendations.
Proficiency in SQL, data visualisation (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, analytical tools and/or relevant programming languages (Python preferred).
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in delivery or logistics companies is a benefit, but not essential.
