Job Description In brief, you will be responsible for:
Taking ownership of the underwriting process for prospective borrowers.Completing in-depth financial and non-financial analysis of potential borrowers.Determining the associated risks involved in granting a loan secured against assets in the renewables, offshore, and recycling sector.Attending credit meetings with potential borrowers and identifying key risks, strengths, and weaknesses.Carrying out market analysis of the sector, industry outlooks, target markets, and borrower's position.Being competent with financial modelling, preparing and presenting them, as well as comfortably giving overviews of structure, cash flow, collateral, etc.Providing recommendations based on your analysis and assessment of credit risk and presenting the deal to the Investment Committee.Engaging with external contacts such as solicitors and valuers. The Successful Applicant The successful candidate will:
Be comfortable and confident leading credit processes, from engaging with potential borrowers to writing credit papers and presenting to the committee.Have experience lending to corporates and against assets such as machinery and plants, with a high-level overview of key risks for this type of lending.Possess strong financial modelling and analysis skills.Ideally have 8-10 years of solid credit experience and a background working in a non-bank or alternative lender within the UK.Have a solid understanding of deal structuring and documentation.
