Description In brief you will be responsible for: taking ownership of the underwriting process for prospective borrowers complete in-depth financial & non-financial analysis of potential borrowers determine the associated risks involved in granting a loan secured against assets in the renewables, offshore and recycling sector Attend credit meetings with potential borrowers and identify key risks, strengths and weaknesses Carry out market analysis of the sector, industry outlooks, target markets and borrower's position Be competent with financial modelling, preparing and presenting them aswell as comfortably giving overviews of structure, cash flow, collateral etc Provide recommendations based on your analysis and assessment of credit risk and present the deal to the Investment Committee.
Engage with external contacts such as solicitors and valuers Profile The successful candidate in brief: Should be comfortable and confident leading a credit processes, from engaging with the potential borrowers, to writing credit papers and then presenting to committee Experience of lending to corporates, and also of lending against assets such as machinery and plants - and having a high level overview of key risks for this type of lending Strong financial modelling and analysis skills Ideal candidates will have 8-10 years solid credit experience, and should have a background working in a non-bank or alternative lender within the UK Have a solid understanding of deal structuring and documentation Job Offer Working very closely with Senior stakeholders Having good autonomy of your role The opportunity to take control of the credit underwriting process by being an SME within this function Having the opportunity to work in the London office full time, OR being located in Birmingham or Manchester, and working remotely with the requirement to travel to the London office once or twice a month.
