Senior Corporate Media Relations Manager

This is newly created role sitting in a leading Media Relations team.
The role will be responsible for enhancing and protecting Nationwide's corporate reputation.
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead and develop media strategies which bring to life Nationwide's corporate strategy, showing casing the Society's difference as the leading modern mutual.
The role will also play a key part in handling reactive media issues and lead our crisis communications media activity alongside our Incident Communications teams.
This is a pivotal role in coordinating Nationwide's media response to key milestones including financial results and regulatory announcements, as well as jointly leading the press office handling and crafting appropriate responses to enquiries.
The role will also lead the analysis and measurement of Nationwide's reputation and sentiment across media.
This position will work closely with the wider Consumer Media Relations, social media and marketing teams on integrated marketing and PR campaigns, as well as multiple teams across the business.
We are looking for someone who has a flair for storytelling, is financially literate with experience in financial PR and is well connected with business media.
It will require strong leadership and a good understanding of reputation management.
This role is in the Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs team which is responsible for maintaining Nationwide's brand and reputation both internally and externally.

What you'll be doing Leading and developing media strategies to communicate Nationwide's delivery on its strategy and purpose.
Co-ordinating Nationwide's media strategy for key corporate milestones, including financial results, AGM and regulatory announcements.
Leading Nationwide's crisis communications preparedness activity alongside Incident Communications.
Leading the analysis and measurement of reputation, sentiment, using data and insight to inform strategy.
Horizon scanning internally and externally for issues of relevance and potential impact.
Working collaboratively with the broader brand, social and marketing teams on integrated campaigns.
Advising internal stakeholders on opportunities and challenges, preparing spokespeople for media engagement.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with media and internal stakeholders.
Jointly leading a busy press office crafting and approving media communication.

Financially literate, at ease with analysing and interpreting complex data/insights.

Strategic thinker with excellent judgement.
Skilled at coordinating multi-channel activity while collaborating with multiple internal teams.
An ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, adapting your style to suit the audience.
Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to manage budgets and multiple competing priorities and deliverables.
Experienced in issues and crisis management.
