Senior Contracts Specialist - Offshore Project (London) Contract - June 2025 - Chiswick (Hybrid) We are looking for a Senior Contracts Specialist to join our team in London, overseeing the management of the prime contract for an offshore mid-sized project.
This role focuses on maximizing commercial advantages and minimizing risks through a thorough understanding of contract terms, project requirements, and internal procedures.
The Specialist will help establish and maintain contract management processes suited to the project's scope and complexity, while providing essential support to the project team.
Key Responsibilities: Guide the project team in managing the prime contract, ensuring compliance with company practices and procedures.
Report to the Senior Contracts Manager, Western Hemisphere.
Provide commercial support throughout project phases, including engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Draft and manage correspondence between the company and the client.
Train the project team on key contract terms and offer ongoing guidance.
Identify project changes, develop change orders or claims, and negotiate resolutions.
Oversee reductions in Letters of Credit, liquidated damages, and other risks at project closeout.
Liaise with the legal team on significant matters and disputes.
Develop strategies for risk mitigation and recovery during the project.
Monitor and manage contract-required notifications.
Act as the primary contact between functional teams and the Project Director/Manager, ensuring accurate information flow.
Qualifications: 5-8 years of experience, ideally in offshore, subsea, or onshore oil and gas projects.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Law.
Experience with large and complex lump-sum projects.
Strong contractual and commercial skills to ensure compliance and timely project delivery.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to foster teamwork and maintain high morale.
