Senior Communications & Marketing Officer - Huddersfield Summary ***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE*** We're looking for an experienced marketing and communications officer to help create landscape-scale change for nature, climate and people.
Based at Marsden Moor Estate, this part time role is covering a 12-month period of parental leave.
Working in our Land & Nature team, you'll be part of restoring several hundred hectares of National Trust and Yorkshire Water land with woodland creation, natural flood management and peat restoration coupled with an exciting programme of community engagement.
Alongside the Landscapes for Water project, you'll also shine a light on our dedicated ranger team who manage some of West Yorkshire's most beautiful places, working with volunteers and local communities to look after diverse habitats; from protected blanket bog and internationally important grasslands to semi-ancient woodlands.
There may be occasional weekend/evening work to support the wider team, but not on a regular basis.
What it's like to work here Your contractual location will be Marsden Moor and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office.
However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times.
You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week.
This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
Your role will be varied; you could be photographing tree planting, planning press coverage of landscape-scale projects, or dealing with crisis communications events, such as moorland fires.
We need somebody flexible to support our flagship project along with our ranger team across a range of land, outdoors and nature work.
The landscape you'll be working across includes land owned by both Yorkshire Water and National Trust.
It stretches from Marsden Moor in the Peak District, up through part of the South Pennine moorlands, to the wonderful Calder Valley hosting Hardcastle Crags, the largest clough woodland in the South Pennines.
What you'll be doing Working alongside other project teams, you'll play a part in delivering transformational landscape scale change across the north of England.
Landscapes for Water is a flagship partnership project, and you'll be working with the project team and partners at Yorkshire Water, alongside our funders and other stakeholders to ensure a joined up approach to how we communicate about this exciting project.
You'll also work closely with the West Yorkshire Group rangers and countryside team to shine a light on all their amazing countryside work.
We want someone who will find the news hook, seek out the photo opportunity, and help demonstrate how our work will help benefit the local community.
Doing this, you'll secure press coverage and create digital content (web, social media and video) and internal communications coverage about our habitat restoration work, as well as work with our partners to reach a wider audience through their channels.
You'll help bring the best out of the countryside team, sharing their passions and encouraging them to be our spokespeople.
