Rate : £600 - £800 per day (INSIDE IR35) (depending on experience) Contract Length: 6 months (possible extension) Location : Remote with occasional on-site requirements Role Overview Responsibilities Architecture & Automation: Lead the design, implementation, and automation of Azure cloud infrastructure, working with Terraform to build frameworks that enhance cloud governance.
Microsoft Ecosystem: Leverage deep knowledge across Microsoft services (Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Defender for Cloud, Azure DevOps) to support and optimise our cloud environment.
Security & IAM: Develop and maintain secure configurations for IAM (Identity and Access Management), SSO, MFA, PIM, and other security measures within Azure.
Design & Documentation: Produce comprehensive technical documentation and contribute to the design of configurations around cloud operations and governance.
Support & Operations: Troubleshoot Azure-related tickets, working within an operational framework to ensure high availability, performance optimisation, and reliability of services.
Hybrid Environment Transition: Assist with the transition from on-premises to cloud-based environments, ensuring seamless migration and integration.
Vulnerability Remediation: Proactively assess vulnerabilities, collaborate with the security team, and implement effective remediation plans.
Required Skills and Experience Migration: Large scale on-prem to cloud migration experience is highly preferred.
Someone who has extensively been involved in this at enterprise level companies or companies who are at the beginning of their transition to the Azure.
Extensive Azure Knowledge: Proven expertise in Azure, Azure AD, Entra ID, Azure DevOps, Azure Connect, IAM, ADFS, and other key cloud services.
Extensive Microsoft Ecosystem Experience: Intune etc.
Automation and Scripting: Strong automation skills with proficiency in Terraform and scripting languages like PowerShell.
Infrastructure Management: Background in managing hybrid/cloud environments, focusing on infrastructure management, DNS, DHCP, server hardware, storage, and RBAC models.
Security and Governance: Experience with governance and security frameworks, including Defender for Cloud, PIM, MFA, tenant management, and vulnerability management.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects and contribute to an evolving start-up environment.
Experience with project management methodologies is a plus.
Documentation & Design: Ability to create technical documentation around processes, configurations, and governance frameworks.
Adaptability: Comfortable in a chaotic environment, with the ability to adapt to sudden changes and provide direction when needed.
