Job summary An exciting 1 year fixed-term Band 7 Clinical Scientist post has arisen to join the Clinical Biochemistry team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
Applicants should have an honours degree in a relevant science, an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent, and registration with the Health Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist.
Our department supports both adult and paediatric services across 6 hospitals and comprises laboratories on the Oxford Road Campus, Wythenshawe, Trafford and North Manchester sites.
The laboratories are extensively equipped with Roche Cobas analysers for core chemistries and immunoassay, several HPLC systems and extensive mass spectrometry equipment and expertise.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be based primarily at the Oxford Road Campus (ORC) but may also need to support Wythenshawe, Trafford and North Manchester, either remotely or on site.
Key areas of responsibility include, participation in the Paediatric Duty Biochemist rota and supporting our specialist services through troubleshooting, method development and quality assurance oversight.
