Job summary Weare seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Clinical Psychologist tojoin our dynamic Workforce Psychological Wellbeing Service.

We understand the unique challenges faced by healthcareprofessionals, and our goal is to provide tailored support to enhance theirmental health and psychological wellbeing.As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will play a crucialrole in providing individual psychological therapy, group support,consultation, teaching and supervision to staff members and teams.
You willcollaborate closely with our team of Clinical Psychologists and Counsellors toensure the highest quality of care.
Main duties of the job To provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to clients of the service specialty, working with individual members of staff and volunteers to provide assessment, formulation and intervention, providing team level interventions, such as reflective practice groups, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the workforce psychological wellbeing services policies and procedures.To work alongside the team in developing and providing education, training, and workshops that aim to improve the psychological wellbeing of staff and volunteers across Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.To provide professional supervision to staff members working within MY Psychological services where appropriate, and to provide clinical supervision to trainees undertaking Doctoral training.To respond to service need, interpreting professional policies and ensuring that the service operates at the highest level of best practice.
The post-holder will work to develop a culture in partnership with others which leads to policies and strategies that improves the wellbeing of staff and volunteers within the Trust.To act independently and to be accountable for own actions within professional guidelines and Trust policies.

Job description Job responsibilities To providespecialist psychological assessments of clients (whether individuals orteam-based clients) referred to the team based upon the appropriate use,interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources, whichmay include clinical interview, psychometrics, self-report measures, ratingscales, direct and indirect observations, semi-structured interviews/surveys,and focus groups with individuals, staff groups, leaders, and other keystakeholders as appropriate dependent upon the nature of the work (whetherindividual therapy or team-based intervention).
To formulateand implement psychological intervention based upon an appropriate conceptualframework of the clients presentation, and employing methods based uponevidence of efficacy.
To beresponsible for implementing a range of specialist psychological interventionsfor individuals, groups/teams, and services, adjusting and refiningpsychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models.
To contributedirectly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understandingand care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings andservice areas within the Trust.
To evaluateand make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoreticaland therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical anddevelopmental processes that have shaped individuals.
To undertakerisk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provideadvice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment andrisk management.
To communicatein a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment,formulation and intervention with clients and to monitor progress throughoutthe course of that intervention.
To carry out the above responsibilitiesusing face to face consultations, telephone or video platforms as appropriateto wider hospital context.
To maintain upto date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues inrelation to specialty areas.For details of the role - both the job description and person specification are attached in the supporting documents section Person Specification Skills and Abilities Essential Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management, frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients and other professional colleagues.
Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
The ability to plan, organise and flexibly manage own caseload, adapting to the changing priorities of a complex organisational environment and coordinating the work of professional colleagues.
Provide effective teaching, training and clinical supervision.
Utilise appropriate clinical governance mechanisms within own work.
Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by HCPC / BPS.
Other Essential Enthusiasm for the development and delivery of psychological services focused on improving the wellbeing of staff and volunteers working within the NHS.
Interest in models of service delivery and an ability to articulate the value added by psychological services working in the context of workforce wellbeing.
The ability to contain and work with organisational stress and the ability to contain the stress of others.
Keyboard and IT literacy skills for the purpose of writing complex psychological reports, letters, as well as clinical programmes, which form part of treatment.
Experience and proficiency of working with remote interfaces.
Desirable The ability to develop and use highly complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings.
Qualifications Essential Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 2000) as accredited by the BPS.
HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist with Chartered Status.
Further training in a specialist area of clinical practice through post doctoral training or a combination of specialist short courses together with an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning.
Knowledge and Awareness Essential Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological interventions used to work with individuals and teams presenting with complex difficulties.
Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS Formal training in supervision of other Clinical Psychologists Awareness of own limitations.
Experience Essential Experience of working directly with staff and/or volunteers who work in health and social care in relation to their mental health and wellbeing.
Experience of teaching, training, consultation and professional and clinical supervision.
Experience of adapting psychological interventions to meet diverse needs of clients receiving care.
Experience of maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems Desirable Experience of working within an NHS Acute Trust.
Experience of delivering clinical services as part of a staff psychological wellbeing service within a healthcare organisation.
Experience of providing Clinical Supervision.
