Senior Clinical Psychologist for Camden VanguardCamden and Islington NHS Foundation TrustWe are seeking an energetic, innovative, and skilled Psychologist with a passion for community psychology approaches to lead the Camden Vanguard for a 12-month fixed term maternity cover. Camden Vanguard is an innovative project aimed at supporting young people and their families who have been affected by community-based violence in Camden and it is part of the wider NCL Vanguard Pilot.
The post holder will work with young people and their families directly, as well as providing clinical supervision to the staff team. The project also aims to work with the systems around these young people to influence and lobby for systemic change; stepping beyond the individual focus.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will play a vital role in leading and developing the project. Working closely with neighbouring Vanguard teams, the post holder will be responsible for helping to strengthen and develop these partnerships in meeting the needs of this complex and vulnerable group of young people. This role prioritises affecting systems change by working with non-clinical professionals and services to develop trauma-informed strategies.
Job responsibilitiesClinical and Managerial Responsibilities Provide a comprehensive psychology service as the lead for the Camden Vanguard.Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, consultations and interventions to young people aged 18-25 y/o.Work alongside the Camden Vanguard team and young people to design and develop activities in line with the project aims.Manage the day to day safety of the Vanguard team, particularly on matters of clinical governance and safeguarding.Work closely with health, local authority, and VCS partners to consider the strategic development of Camden Vanguard.Provide advice and support to MH teams on working with young adults who have been stepped down from secondary care.Support GPs and practice staff in their management of service users through case discussions and joint consultations.Maintain effective communication with GP, primary care staff, service users and their carers.Engage with local service user participation models.Person SpecificationQualifications/RegistrationDoctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology.Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a clinical psychologist or a counselling psychologist.Skills/ExperienceSkills in the use of a range of methods of psychological assessment and intervention.Ability to communicate effectively with service users and other professionals.Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of service users with a wide range of presentations.ContractFixed term for 12 months.
Salary£61,927 to £68,676 per annum inclusive of HCAS.
