Job summary Senior Clinical Psychologist Post Band 8a - WTE/ hours.
Newly qualified Clinical Psychologists are invited to apply for the two posts on a Band 7 Development Post.
The post will be based at: The Mount, Whalley Road, Accrington, BB5 6AS.
The role is within: Children & Young People's Psychological Services (CYPPS) - East Lancashire.
We are looking for two enthusiastic Clinical Psychologists to join our busy community services for children, young people & their families.
We have the option of appointing to a part time post ( hours) for suitably qualified and experienced candidates.
Or appointment to a Band 7 development post for both advertised posts.
We will consider applications from current final year Clinical Psychology trainees qualifying in 2025.
You will join an established service, which includes Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Psychological Therapists, Family Therapist & Trainee/Assistant Psychologists.
We are part of Children & Young People's Psychological Services & CAMHS across LSCFT & have close links with our local Child Psychiatry Service in East Lancashire.
We support our team to deliver high quality & innovative psychological assessments and interventions with children & young people through consultation, individual, systemic/family & group work.
There will be opportunities to further develop areas of clinical interest relevant to the employed role.
Main duties of the job Our team have benefitted from a range of development opportunities including in-house training & specific therapies training & supervision ( PCG, CBT, EMDR, VIG, Theraplay, DDP).
There will be ample opportunity for post-qualification support, supervision & consolidation of core competencies alongside more experienced colleagues both locally & across the region.
All Clinical Psychologists have an agreed Job Plan which protects their core clinical commitments & allocated time for agreed projects.
Newly qualified Clinical Psychologists will also be offered a place on our cross-specialty in-house support and CPD program.
There will also be opportunities to support the broader aims of leadership activity through indirect work, delivering training, & service development/audit activities.
Where required, we will also support employees to develop competencies in clinical supervision as part of their professional development plan.
We have excellent links with the North West Doctorate Clinical Training courses and encourage the team to offer core and specialist placements to trainees.
About us The Welcome Bonus is only available to candidates who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider Trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria (LSC) Integrated Care System (ICS) in a like-for-like role or core profession.
For example, a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT or in a role such as Mental Health Practitioner Role that requires the same profession.
These trusts are: o University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust o East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust o Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust o Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met).
These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment.
This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 - 31st January 2025.

Person Specification Education Essential Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, as accredited by the BPS.
Current registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical) Desirable Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Knowledge Essential Doctoral level knowledge of clinical psychology Skills in the use of highly complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
A high level of ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information to children and young people, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
Experience Essential Substantial experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist with children, young people and their families, presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings.
Experience of working systemically with family and carer groups and establishing the most effective methods of working with children, young people and their carers.
Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified autonomous practitioner and also within the context of a multiagency treatment plan.
