Senior Category Manager Salary depending on experience + car allowance + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays + life insurance + tonnes of other benefits!
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Category Manager to lead, develop, and execute category and sourcing strategies across various spend categories.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement, with a proven track record of leading projects and driving strategic initiatives.
They will thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering results through a motivated and entrepreneurial approach.
Exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of procurement processes are essential for influencing stakeholders and driving meaningful change across the organisation.

Supplier Selection and Management: Utilise extensive experience and data-driven insights to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and agreements.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent value delivery.
Optimise the supplier base to drive cost efficiencies while maintaining high service levels, quality, and performance.
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans that align with overall business objectives, delivering measurable cost savings within agreed timescales.
Stay informed on market trends, technology advancements, and best practices to continuously improve sourcing strategies.
Contract Management: Proficiently draft, review, and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring advantageous terms for the business.
Collaborate with the legal department to ensure relevant and robust contract agreements are in place.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage and influence stakeholders to ensure procurement aligns with specifications and that the approved supplier list is adhered to.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with project goals, timelines, and overall business strategy.
What experience do we need from you?
7+ years of experience in category management, with a strong focus on project leadership and strategic execution.
Degree educated or holding a relevant qualification in a technical field.
Preferably, a background in construction, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
Skills and Competencies: Extensive Experience: Proven background in procurement and category management with a strong emphasis on leadership.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
Strategic Thinking: Expertise in developing and executing long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
Thrives in Fast-Paced Environments: Highly adaptable and effective in dynamic, fast-moving settings.

Results-Oriented: Strong focus on delivering measurable results through effective procurement strategies and supplier management.
Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
Procurement Expertise: Deep understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and negotiation.
Professional Ethics: Commitment to a professional and ethical approach in all dealings.
Continuous Improvement: Dedication to enhancing knowledge, skills, and competencies.
Customer Focus: Strong capability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
