Instead, everyone is given the support and freedom to tailor-make their own career and do the best work of their lives.Key Responsibilities: Identify, create & lead development opportunities within category strategiesMonitor and analyse market trends to identify cost saving opportunities and implement within category strategiesLead cross functional teams in VA/VE activities to allow development of supply baseReview, manage & negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulationsIdentify and mitigate risks within supply chain in order to ensure continuity of supplyLead supplier audit activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodyIdentify underperforming vendorsCreate & manage supplier improvement plans for underperforming vendorsEngage with Quality team and support on NCR closure at supply baseUnderstand NCR process and be able to take part and lead 8D problem solving techniques within supply base.Resolve invoice queries with suppliers in a timely manner and put fix in place to ensure no repeat issuesDemonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Degree or professional certification – preferableMinimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environmentProficient in procurement software & ERP (SAP) systemsFamiliar with manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.Excellent analytical and problem solving skillsStrong organisational and time management skillsExcellent communication skills and experience working in cross functional teamsFounded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
