Job summary Are you a dedicated Nurse, looking to make a difference to the lives of Adults with severe mental illness?We're looking for a compassionate individual to lead our recovery team which is part of the Oxford City Adult Mental Health TeamThe recovery team work with adults with severe and enduring mental illness who are currently in supported accommodation managed by Response on the Littlemore hospital site.
You will clinically lead the small team consisting of 2 band 6 RMN's and a support worker, along with working with Response mangers and their staff including a Band 7 OT.
You with also be supported by both psychiatric and psychological therapy clinicians along with the larger AMHT Oak team.You will need to be able to work autonomously, with a caseload of patients with whom you will engage and offer the recommended treatment and support.
You will have experience of care processes and able to assess and plan treatment with service users.
You will also be able to assess and manage risk, including use of Safeguarding processes.
Main duties of the job You will act as an advanced autonomous practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice/knowledge whilst participating in direct evidenced based patient care working as part of a multi- disciplinary team providing professional and clinical support to patients.
You will undertake autonomous health assessments; diagnosing, treating and discharging patients within own competence and as the Senior Care Coordinator will provide expert care and treatment to patients within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines.
You will provide support within the team and act as a role model and resource, encouraging and developing a high standard of clinical skill and improving patient outcomes.
You will function in a variety of role dimensions: health care provider, educator, researcher, clinical advocate and implementer of clinical governance.
You will be a senior clinician within the team.
The role will predominantly be clinical, but also include some operational leadership and supervision to your small team of junior staff.
To support leadership development you will cross cover with the band 7 nurses in the wider Oak team.

We provide care for the residents of Oxford, the local towns of Kidlington, Bicester and Woodstock, and the surrounding villages.
The team is split into three teams; Willow, Oak, and Aspen, which are aligned to local Primary Care Network patches.The recovery team operates Monday to Friday 9 am 5pm (not including bank holidays).
The team consist of a Consultant Psychiatrist, a senior care co-ordinator, 2 care co-ordinators, a support worker, and an OT who all work with a 3rd sector supported housing provide Response and their support workers.We would encourage you to give Tom Adams (team manager) a call to discuss the role and we very much welcome visits from interested applicants.
Person Specification Knowledge Essential A specialist knowledge and clinical expertise in community mental health in line with professional requirements To have awareness of National and local issues concerning healthcare To have a developed understanding of Clinical Governance To understand the legal frameworks used within practice To maintain professional accountability and professional registration.
Experience Essential Substantial experience of mental health care and working across different settings which must include experience within a community mental health setting.
Providing clinical and or managerial supervision skill Essential Demonstrate an advanced understanding of clinical risk assessment and management Advanced knowledge of the range of presentations, diagnoses and current management options Committed to growth and development of colleagues and environment To demonstrate good English verbal and written communication skills To show evidence of advanced problem solving skills Desirable Qualification in management and leadership within a healthcare setting Coaching skills Committed to constant review and change Qualifications Essential Relevant Professional Qualification (RMN, or Occupational Therapist with Dip RCOT qualification or degree Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio Hold a Psycho-social Intervention qualification or equivalent Desirable To hold an advanced professional/clinical qualification ( CBT, DBT, NMP) For OT Member of the British Association/Royal College of Occupational Therapists
