Job summary We are looking to recruit an experienced senior project manager on a fixed term basis of up to 12 months where that role will support the technical delivery of the construction of the Rivers centre project at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich.
The construction phase is expected to complete by the end of March 2025 and we will require the person in this post to continue to perform the 'responsible person' role post completion and to lead the technical element of the post project evaluation gateway process.
In addition this position will be part of the wider capital projects team who will be expected to ensure delivery of an effective design service county wide (in either Norfolk or Suffolk) in accordance with Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice and within the budgets allocated The successful candidate will assist the Head of Capital Projects in promoting new initiatives for the design services provided to NSFT and the development and delivery of the Estates strategic objectives.
This will require an innovative approach and regular contact with the relevant service, ward and locality managers to ensure an efficient service is provided for their respective services, sites and buildings.
Main duties of the job To be able to communicate effectively at the highest levels within the organisation, partner organisations, private commissioning organisations, public sector organisations, NHS Estates & Statutory bodies and be required to actively apply the interpersonal skills that are necessary to manage staff, contractors and specialist consultants in a high pressure, sometimes adversarial, environment to achieve the required outcomes within the required timeframe.
Prepare good multi-media presentation skills, particularly in relation to problem solving and project team co-ordination and the vital link between clients and professional bodies with regard to emotive and complex issues encompassing the procurement of patient and non-patient care environments.
Provide management, technical support and specialist direction to the directly employed staff across the organisation, when required, in connection with maintenance, adaptation, new build, development and complex maintenance related issues.
Liaise with professional bodies , The Fire Service, Consulting Engineers, Health and Safety Executive and Chartered Surveyors to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations with regard to project design, structural calculations, Health and Safety at Work Act - Construction, Design and Management Regulations and Leases on the Trust's estate.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential The post holder must be qualified to Degree Level or have equivalent level in an engineering or building related subject.
Plus proven financial management experience within the Estates functions Management qualifications equivalent.
Desirable The potholder must have masters in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Experience Essential Specialist knowledge of complex building systems with practical knowledge withinNHS Experience of working at a senior level in Project Management.
Able to demonstrate examples of successful collaborative working at a senior level with other agencies.
Must have current knowledge of Statutory Planning, Building Regulations / Building Services Codes of Practice.
Skills Essential The post holder must have current knowledge of Building / Engineering maintenance procedures, databases and spreadsheets, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Must have detailed experience in the use of AutoCAD drawing software, and a good working knowledge of JCT Contract documentation, including Health and Safety CDM Regulations.
The post holder must have current knowledge of Statutory Planning, Building Regulations / Building Services Codes of Practice: Knowledge Essential The post holder must have:- Acquired working knowledge and understanding of specialist health care design guidance documents, Health Technical Memoranda, Health Building Notes and Firecode Must have experience in financial control and significant value budget management.
Other Essential Must have the ability to manage large projects in a multi-agency environment from concept through development to conclusion.
