What you'll do As the Senior Buyer for the Plants category at Sainsbury's, you will be tasked with owning, delivering, and optimising the buying and selling strategy for the product area, aligning with Sainsbury's Win in Food strategy.
Your focus will be on achieving sales, volume market share, and cash profit targets while delivering a market-leading, best-in-class customer offer.
You will work cross-functionally to review the product range, identify opportunities for product quality improvement, and collaborate with the supply base and Product Developers to develop a compelling customer offer.
There are some great projects that you will get to lead and with your creative flair you will directly impact our customers by your varied product ranges.
Your role will involve making complex commercial decisions at speed, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and leading cross-functional projects to drive success in Plants.
Who you are You are a seasoned Buying professional with a strong commercial acumen, in-depth knowledge of trading dynamics, and proved experience of driving business growth through strategic buying and selling strategies.
You will have a passion for plants and it is desirable that you have worked with Plants before.
Your ability to analyse financial, market, and customer data allows you to identify opportunities and make informed decisions, while your expertise in negotiation, supplier management, and category planning ensures the delivery of a market-leading customer offer.
With a track record of accountability, excellent judgement, and effective communication, you excel in building strong cross-functional relationships and driving performance to achieve key KPI targets for market share growth, sales, profit, and value index.
