Buyer My client, an exciting organization who specialises in cutting-edge defence systems and technology solutions for global military applications, are in search of a Buyer to join their Purchasing Team and oversee procurement activities and drive the supply chain strategy.
The role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, at the most competitive costs through developing and driving strong supplier partnerships.
Responsibilities: Provide daily leadership, operational guidance, and continuous improvement Perform routine tasks independently and require minimal direction for new projects or assignments.
Oversee Procurement processes, standards, and plans, including RFPs, negotiations, and cost analysis.
Identify delivery risks, conduct root cause analysis, and develop recovery plans to align shipments with customer needs.
Coordinate procurement activities from intent to purchase through delivery.
Analyse requirements like specifications, preferred suppliers, and needed delivery dates.
Conduct competitive tendering to ensure best value for money.
Solicit, evaluate proposals, and issue RFQs and POs per company guidelines.
Implement purchase contracts that comply with company and regulatory standards.
Provide Purchasing KPIs and hold accountability for team performance.
Supported by the Buying Team, ensure timely issuance of purchase orders with terms aligned to program needs.
Verify accuracy of Quality, Price, and Leadtime information in ERP systems.
Evaluate and qualify potential suppliers, maintaining an approved suppliers list in the ERP system.
Advise team and management on appropriate suppliers.
Negotiate optimal cost while ensuring quality and schedule requirements.
Ensure on-schedule, quality-compliant, and cost-effective material delivery.
