We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Senior Buyer to oversee end-to-end procurement activities for subcontracting and materials sourcing.
This is a key role where you'll develop and implement procurement strategies, manage RFQs/ITTs, evaluate tender returns, and make impactful sourcing decisions that shape the future of this multi-billion-pound infrastructure project.Key Responsibilities:Lead procurement strategy development and implementation for complex, high-value packages across the project.Manage the full procurement process, from tendering to contract award, ensuring governance, compliance, and alignment with project goals.Collaborate with technical, commercial, and legal teams on contract negotiation, supplier assessments, and performance management.Drive supplier engagement, focusing on local, diverse, and SME opportunities, and contribute to community-focused initiatives.Ensure all procurement activities are aligned with Zero Harm principles and nuclear regulations.Maintain a strategic approach to supply chain planning and logistics, ensuring high-performance standards.What We're Looking For:Proven experience in complex procurement processes, ideally in construction or major projects.Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and commercial skills.Ability to think strategically, maintain attention to detail, and navigate complex decision-making.Knowledge of procurement and contracting law, with a focus on risk management and compliance.A proactive, collaborative approach to working across multiple functions and stakeholders.Desirable:MCIPS qualification or equivalent, or working towards it.Familiarity with nuclear project environments and sustainable procurement practices.Don't match all the criteria?
