What you'll doParticipate in the creation of our Trust & Safety system, including things like:Driving large backend projects leading a working group of engineers (backend / data science / ML)Support existing subsystems written in PHP, Go and C. Regular maintenance of the system and aligning it with existing data governance requirementsWriting services and running them in the cloud and on-prem data centres using contemporary technologies like K8s, ArgoCD, Vault.Support our critical PHP-based backend software, optimised for performance and reliability, holding data for hundreds of millions of users, and interacting via GRPC.Help to implement AI-driven models for surviving our customers' requests and enhancing the existing system capabilitiesOptimise backend code, look for bottlenecks and maintain the health of your services in productionSuggest and implement innovative solutionsProactively communicate with colleagues to refine application designActively participate in the whole process of development, from initial design to deployment and supportWrite backend code using PHP, Go or KotlinAbout you:A Computer Science/Tech related degree is highly desirableExtensive experience in PHP languageExperience in relational databases and SQL, preferably MySQLUnderstanding how to optimise and fine-tune backend application that uses MySQL or other external data sourcesExperience with caching, sharding, replication, reliability and scalability issuesKnowledge of *nix console environmentExperience in building large-scale solutionsStrong collaboration skillsProven experience driving big backend projects with multiple people involvedStrong will to learn new technologiesSolid communication skills and team-working capabilityAbout Us Bumble Inc. is the parent company of Bumble, Badoo, Fruitz and Official.
