As a dedicated Project Delivery Engineer, you will be an integral part of achieving this, while always striving to keep our customers power flowing.
The Project Delivery Engineer (Senior Authorised Person - SAP) is responsible for the delivery of construction projects safely and to time, cost and quality.
They are active operational engineers with the responsibility for all High Voltage and Extra High Voltage SAP activities required to deliver the project, including customer requested work and fault repairs.
The successful candidate will also ensure that all projects are planned safely, efficiently whilst minimising network outage risks, customer service risks and ensuring environmental compliance.
They will also ensure that Emergency Return to Service plans are in place and executed when required.
The role includes taking part in an operational standby role supporting the wider business.

• Delivery of Projects to time, cost and quality.
• Lead project safety management and supervision • Outage and Emergency Return to Service planning to minimise network outage risks during the project Key Competencies • Operational experience and authorisations, including the ability to become Senior Authorised to 132kV • Detailed knowledge of safety procedures, specifically CDM regulations, and the Distribution Safety Rules.
• Ability to undertake plant and equipment commissioning • Extensive experience of delivering projects to time, cost and quality • Ability to plan, control and co-ordinate short to medium term project resources Qualifications and Attributes Essential Qualifications and Experience • HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent electrical qualification.
• Current UK full driving license • Experience of delivering High Voltage (HV) or Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) • Hold current HV or EHV SAP authorisations operating to UK safe systems of work on electrical networks.
• Team working skills • CDM knowledge • Knowledge and experience of HV power system protection and applications engineering.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience • Degree in electrical engineering • NEBOSH or equivalent formal qualification in safety management • Member of the IET and be working towards professional registration as IEng or CEng • Experience of delivering EHV projects as a SAP.
• Hold current Northern Powergrid EHV SAP authorisations • Fluid filled cable experience as an SAP • Tower experience as an SAP • Experience of CDM and its application • Detailed knowledge and experience of EHV power system protection and applications engineering.
