We're currently looking for a Senior Authorisation Officer on a Fixed Term basis until 11/05/25.
This position sits within the Authorisation team, we are flexible on the location of this role.
This role is part of the Practice Regulation Directorate and the Governance Executive Directorate and plays a vital part in ensuring ACCAs statutory recognition for audit is maintained, supporting ACCA's strategic delivery plan of achieving and promoting the highest professional, ethical and governance standards.
The Senior Authorisation Officer is responsible for administering ACCA's regulatory arrangements for the issue of the Practising Certificate and Audit Qualification to members undertaking public practice work.
The Authorisation team works closely with the rest of Practice Regulation and the wider ACCA to ensure compliance with ACCA's lead regulators to uphold standards.
The Job Reporting to the Authorisation Team Leader on a day to day basis, you'll be involved in the following: Preparation and delivery of assessment output to ACCA practising members through summarising of complex information and drawing independent conclusions on member eligibility to hold a Practising Certificate and Audit Qualification.
Deliver accurate assessment outcomes of annual renewals in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring members are properly licensed.
Maintain and keep up to date a work in progress (WIP) tracker to monitor own work and manage own performance and case progression in line with the team KPIs and objectives.
Ensure the highest quality of customer service is always provided, answering emails, correspondence and telephone calls from members providing excellent technical knowledge of matters relating to public practice.
Act in accordance with recommendations from ACCA regulators including; Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and the Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA).
Support initiatives to ensure practitioner information and ACCA Rulebook changes are embedded into on-going assessment procedures.
Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of members in practice including; ACCAs Practising Information handbook and ACCAs Rulebook.
The Person We're looking for someone who: Ability to demonstrate an interest in regulatory work would be an advantage.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers at all levels.
Highly organised, logical, and methodical approach to work with very strong analytical skills and with an emphasis on attention to detail.
IT literate with fast and accurate data inputting skills and a sound knowledge of MS Office and ideally with experience of working with Oracle databases.
The ability to work as part of the wider team to achieve the objectives of the department.
