Vivid Technology is working on behalf of a leading RF Technology Group, who have just opened a state of the art R&D facility in Lincoln, UK Our client is looking for the best-of-the-best - motivated and energetic individuals - to work on the most exciting new antenna and RF technologies.
The new site will tackle advanced design challenges in the RF and antenna systems space.
This role involves working directly with the Group CTO on innovative projects, collaborating with teams across Europe, the USA, and Africa, and developing cutting-edge technologies such as active antenna systems, phased arrays, SATCOM, and space-related RF systems.
As a senior antenna and RF design engineer, you will lead the development of antenna and RF subsystems from HF to SHF frequencies, as well as more complex mixed-signal electronic systems comprised of both antennas and RF subsystems.
Activities are expected to cover such diverse domains as active antenna systems, radio direction finding, phased array antennas and AESAs, electronic countermeasures, SATCOM, and space-related RF and antenna developments.
There will be an opportunity to develop your skills in systems engineering as part of the role.
Hard Requirements: Education : Minimum: Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering Preferred: Master's or PhD in electronic engineering Experience : 6+ years with technical leadership, antenna/RF design and testing, EMC testing, and system modeling (e.g., MATLAB).
Familiarity with product qualification, customer interaction, and tools like CST, HFSS, or FEKO.
Computer Literacy : Required: MATLAB, Windows, MS Office.
Preferred: Eagle or Altium.
Languages : Proficient in English.
Soft Requirements: High accountability, innovative problem-solving, and a mission-oriented mindset.
Strong electromagnetic theory knowledge, practical prototyping skills, and systems engineering understanding.
Flexibility with work hours, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to manage stress and deadlines.
Key Performance Areas: Technical Lead (20%) : Lead design teams, manage projects, and mentor junior staff.
Antenna Development (20%) : Simulations, prototype construction, testing, and production oversight.
RF Product Development (20%) : Circuit design, component sourcing, testing, and preproduction support.
Mixed Signal/System Development (20%) : PCB and digital subsystem design, custom testing tools, and performance modeling.
Software Development (10%) : MATLAB-based system modeling and testing software creation.
Reporting (10%) : Technical reports, customer presentations, and conference papers.
