We are seeking a 1:1 SEN Assistant to join a dynamic team at a Special School in Basildon.
This full-time, temporary to permanent role is an opportunity to work closely with a student, providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one support to a student, adapting to their specific learning and emotional needs.
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCPs, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to promote the student's development and well-being.
Support the student in accessing the curriculum, using a variety of strategies and resources.
Monitor and record the student's progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
Assist with classroom activities, including literacy, numeracy, and creative tasks.
Encourage positive behaviours and emotional regulation, using therapeutic approaches.
Qualifications and Experience Experience supporting students with special educational needs, particularly ASD and communication difficulties.
Familiarity with visual aids, intensive interaction techniques, or EHCP implementation.
NVQ Level 2 in learning support or equivalent qualification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic approach with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
