Bookmark Education, in partnership with a specialist support site, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children aged 11-16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This unique role offers the chance to work within a nurturing, inclusive environment that prioritises the well-being, growth, and development of each individual student.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to SEND and SEMH students that are unable to attend mainstream school by assisting them with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Assist the teacher in creating and maintaining an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Develop positive relationships with students, helping them build confidence and achieve their potential.
Support students in managing challenges associated with their needs, promoting resilience and independence.
Essential Requirements: Previous experience working with SEND/SEMH children, particularly within a secondary school setting.
A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families.
An understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in an educational environment.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
