Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience Start Date: ASAP Teach Match Education Recruitment is currently working with a well-established primary school in Oldham that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the classroom.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students with a range of learning needs.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the delivery of inclusive education, working alongside the class teacher and other support staff to ensure that each child can fully engage with the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the class teacher in supporting students with SEND within the classroom environment.
Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with various learning, physical, or emotional needs.
Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and motivated to succeed.
Assist in the preparation of learning resources and materials for SEND pupils.
Support students with behavioural, social, and emotional challenges in a sensitive and constructive manner.
Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the student's education.
The ideal candidate will have: Experience working with children, ideally in a SEND support role.
A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
A clear understanding of the various challenges faced by children with SEND.
Excellent communication skills, both with children and adults.
A positive and proactive attitude to learning and development.
Relevant qualifications in supporting children with SEND (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent).
