Job Type: Full time Job Location: Chelmsford School Setting: Secondary School Contract Type: Contract   REF: SENDIRECT/191657 Rate: £130-£265 per day Hours: 8:30-15:30 Start Date: Immediately   We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join a Secondary School in Chelmsford.
This full-time role offers a contract position and is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and driving inclusion across the school.
  As a SENCO, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing SEN provision within the school, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development and leadership in the field of SEN.   Key Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate SEN provision within the school.
Work with teachers and support staff to ensure that students with SEN receive appropriate support.
Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusion and support for students with SEN. Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, providing guidance to teachers and staff.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic student support.
Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and school policies.
Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience as a SENCO or working in a leadership role within SEN is preferred.
Strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and external professionals.
A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) and a SENCO qualification (or working towards it).
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
