Colchester - primary - LSA - £84-100 per day GSL Education Chelmsford are looking for a dedicated Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant for a primary school in Colchester .
The Learning Support Assistant role is vital to the school and involves supporting children with a variety of needs including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP's).
We are particularly interested in speaking to individuals who have a background in Speech and Language, ADHD, SEMH and Autism.
SEND Learning Support Assistants are an important valued member of the teaching team.
As well as working directly with the children's teacher, the LSA is encouraged to use his/her own initiative and skills to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for the children.
Responsibilities: Supporting students with ADHD, Autism, SEMH, and EHCPs in the classroom.
Offering one-to-one and small group assistance to meet their individual academic and personal development needs.
Collaborating with teachers to prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum.
Tailoring lesson plans to fit the specific needs of students with SEND.
Using your initiative to support and enhance the overall quality of learning and teaching.
Helping students build their confidence, independence, and social skills in a supportive setting.
Implementing behaviour management strategies and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all students.
Requirements: A degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience working in a similar role, especially with SEND students, or as a SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary is essential.
Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach to working with children.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
