Sen Teaching Assistant

Position : Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Male) - Due to the needs and requests of the student being supported the candidate needs to be Male Location : Okehampton Hours : Full-time - Temp to Perm Contract Salary : £100 a day Start Date : ASAP All the students have Education & Health Care Plans (EHCPS) with primarily Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.
A significant proportion of the pupils have a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Conditions, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), attachment difficulties andSpeech, Language and Communication Needs.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and group support to male students with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop key skills.
Assist the class teacher with lesson planning and classroom management tailored to individual needs.
Implement personalised education and support plans.
Encourage positive social interactions and personal development.
Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to monitor and report on student progress.
Requirements: Previous experience as a teaching Assistant or a support worker, ideally with SEN students, is desirable but not essential.
A patient and empathetic approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
Must hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
