SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH) Location: Trowbridge Start Date: January 2025 (or sooner) A highly reputable SEMH/SEN school group is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their permanent team at their Trowbridge site.
This role offers the opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as other special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities: Supporting students' individual learning plans, helping to manage challenging behavior and emotional regulation.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
Providing one-to-one and small group support to ensure positive outcomes for students.
Building trusting relationships to nurture students' confidence and personal growth.
Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEN.
Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to varying needs.
A patient, compassionate, and resilient attitude.
Teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and therapists.
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
