The school are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised support to students with ASC, ensuring they have access to the resources and assistance they need to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities : Provide one-on-one support to students with ASC, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and emotional regulation.
Facilitate learning as directed by the teacher and in line with pupils Educational Health Care Plans(EHCP).
Support behavioral strategies tailored to the specific needs of each student.
Support students during classroom activities, helping them to stay engaged, focused, and on task.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement effective support strategies that promote student progress and independence.
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to relevant stakeholders and adjusting support strategies as needed.
Promote the development of essential life skills, including communication, socialisation, self-care, enhance students independence and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience working with individuals with ASC or other special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of students with ASC.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the evolving needs of students and the school community.
Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field would be advantageous.
