We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with moderate learning difficulties and, additional mental health needs.
This school is based in Hastings for children aged 6-16 and has speciailised in SEMH to provide exceptional education and support for traumatised children and young people.
You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behaviour, ADHD or Autism and, also have developed mental health issues due to their needs and, require additional support with improving social, emotional and mental well-being.
You will be working in partnership with the school's teaching staff and therapists to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development and well-being.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 support to a children with learning difficulties and help students understand instructions.
Assist in implementing individual learning and, support plans.
Support children during social activities and outings.
Encourage communication and manage challenging behaviour.
Work alongside the teacher and SEN team to create a positive learning environment.
Prepare and provide learning materials.
Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Impose patience and understanding.
Have an understanding with challenging behaviour.

Be able to develop strong and positive relationships with children.
