As an SEN Teaching Assistant , your main responsibility will be to work closely with students who have a variety of learning needs, offering both academic and emotional support.
You will be helping to create an inclusive environment where each student feels confident, supported, and empowered to succeed.
This role provides you with the opportunity to work alongside a passionate team of teachers and SEN specialists, ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans to meet each student's specific needs.
Help students with personal care, mobility, and other support needs where required.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to be independent and self-confident learners.
Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to track student progress and adapt strategies to help students succeed.
Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting positive interaction and well-being.
Contribute to the overall smooth running of the classroom by helping with general classroom management and resources.
What We're Looking For Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable, but a positive, proactive attitude is equally important.
A caring, patient approach to working with children who have a variety of educational needs.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
A passion for helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
A flexible and adaptable attitude – every day is different when working as an SEN Teaching Assistant .
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
