Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Mainsteam secondary, Staffordshire Start Date: ASAP/ JAN 2025 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Job Description: We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our secondary SEN provision located in the area of Staffordshire.
This full-time role is available from an ASAP start and offers the opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs in a secondary school setting.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teaching staff and specialists to deliver individual and group support, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to secondary students with a variety of SEN, adapting activities and materials to individual needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a supportive classroom environment.
Build trusting relationships with students, encouraging confidence, engagement, and a positive self-image.
Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor students' progress, adjusting support as needed.
Keep accurate records of students' development, achievements, and any challenges they face.
Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each student.
Requirements: Prior experience working with secondary-age students with SEN is highly desirable.
Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting young people with additional needs.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
