SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant – Plymouth Location: Plymouth, Devon Pay Rate: £85-£90 per day (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only Start Date: Immediate/As soon as possible We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our team in Plymouth.
This role offers the chance to work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting their learning and well-being in a dynamic secondary school environment.
Role and Responsibilities: Provide targeted support to secondary school students with SEN, tailoring assistance to meet individual needs.
Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver inclusive lessons and adapt resources to ensure access for all learners.
Support students with emotional, social, and behavioral challenges, fostering confidence and independence.
Deliver one-to-one or small group interventions, ensuring progress in academic and personal development.
Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, contributing to a supportive and inclusive school community.
Assist with personal care needs if required.
Requirements: Previous experience working with students with SEN in a secondary school or similar setting is highly desirable.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young people.
A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
Business insurance to cover travel to and between school sites, as required.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
