SEN Learning Support Assistant This specialist mixed primary and secondary SEN school based in Blackpool are recruiting for learning support assistants.
The school caters for children with a wide range of special educational needs for learners aged 2-19 years. You will be required to support and guide pupils in their learning journey through fun play, sensory play, and continuous provisions.
Many students at this provision require specific additional support, so it will be your responsibility to identify these and adapt your approach accordingly.
You will liaise with the class teacher to ensure you are in line with each child's EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan) and to ensure you are maximising each child's progression and potential.
Role requirements: Passionate about working with and supporting children with SEN.
Knowledge of/confidence with delivering continuous provisions in line with the curriculum.
Interpersonal skills.
Patience and communication skills with children is essential.
Resilient and able to reflect on your practice.
To ensure you are following all safeguarding policies and procedures.
You will be required to monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers.
Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher you will be expected to plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups. Key Information: The chance to work with wonderful individual children and young adults.
A full time role, Monday to Friday (8.30-3.30pm) start date ASAP.
Term-time only role. PAYE contract.
Blackpool based, FY5.
