Job Title: SEN Graduate Teaching AssistantLocation: SmethwickPay: £70 - £80 per dayContract: Immediate start until July 2025 Focus: 1:1 and small group support to children with special educational needs This school is a vibrant and inclusive primary school nestled in the heart of Smethwick.

As they continue to promote an inclusive ethos, they are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.
Position: SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and class teachers to develop individualized learning plans for students with SEN.Provide one-on-one and small group support to SEN students, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.Adapt and differentiate learning materials and resources to cater to the diverse learning needs of SEN students.Implement specific strategies and interventions to support the academic, social, and emotional development of SEN students.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting understanding, empathy, and respect among all students.Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of SEN students, providing valuable feedback to the teaching team and parents.Collaborate with external professionals and support agencies involved in the care of SEN students.Support students during assessments and examinations, ensuring they have appropriate accommodations.
Requirements:A minimum of a bachelor's degree.Genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs and a strong belief in their potential.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting SEN students in their learning journey.Previous experience working with SEN students, either in a school or care setting, is highly desirable.An understanding of different SEN conditions and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
