We're seeking compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with children of secondary school age who face barriers to their education.
Your role will involve providing tailored support to help students overcome challenges, build resilience and achieve their potential both inside and outside the classroom.
Key responsibilities: Offer one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs Assist in classroom activities to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour using positive de-escalation techniques Work closely with teaching staff to implement individualised strategies Promote emotional wellbeing and foster positive behaviour and social skills Track and report student progress to teachers and the SENCO Who we're looking for: Experience working with young people with SEMH or other special educational needs in a school, youth work or a care setting Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff A calm, patient and nurturing approach to supporting young people Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and non-confrontational manor Flexibility, resilience and a passion for improving the lives of young people Able to drive and have access to your own car Desirable: relevant qualifications (e.g Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) If you have a passion for helping young people overcome challenges and succeed, we encourage you to apply!
