An Ofsted-graded 'Good' secondary pupil referral unit in Preston are seeking a dynamic and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025...
The school require a teaching assistant to support students' learning across Key Stage 3 and 4, and the ideal candidate will have experience supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) in an alternative provision or PRU school setting.
The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience, patience and an ability to strike up rapport and develop relationships with SEMH pupils.
Pupils arrive at the school having struggled to access learning in their previous school/s, and clear routines and therapies are implemented in school to help re-engage students with the education system.
The personal relationships developed with pupils ensure that each one achieves their potential both academically and personally.
Rates of £88.90 - £94.51 per day are available, dependant upon experience and qualification.
(Tradewind pay our teaching assistants directly via PAYE, and not via a third party umbrella company!!)
The school are looking to take someone on through an initial long term, temporary period, with a view to subsequently offering a permanent contract to the right candidate at a later date in 2025.
The school have a fantastic record of developing and up-skilling their staff internally, with a number of current teaching staff having started their career in school as a temporary teaching assistant.
