SEMH Teaching Assistant Veritas are currently working with one of our partner schools in Rotherham, to help them find a specialist SEMH Teaching Assistant to support them with their social, emotional and mental health challenges.
In this role you will provide more 1:1 targeted intervention for pupils to help them with the day to day emotional challenges they face.
This role is available either part time or full time.
The role: Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions to support pupils in our partner school.
Help develop and deliver behavioural support plans tailored to each students' individual needs.
Collaborate with the Teacher and other teaching staff to create plans to improve classroom behaviour and make it a positive and engaging earning environment for all.
Support students with their coping mechanisms and resilience to help them manage their behaviour and encourage positive and engaging learning.
Monitor the pupils progress consistently and adapt their interventions based on your assessments.Ideal Candidate Experience working with SEMH students and confident in dealing with difficult behaviour.
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques, and de-escalation strategies.
Ability to build strong trust and rapport with pupils to encourage positive changed to their behaviour.
