SEMH Support Assistant – Specialist School Setting Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are looking for a committed and empathetic Support Assistant to join our specialist school.
In this rewarding role, you'll provide hands-on support to students, helping them engage with both vocational and academic activities and develop valuable life skills in a safe and structured environment.
Position:  SEMH Support Assistant (Vocational and Academic Support) Location:  Eccles, Salford  About Us: Our school serves young people who have faced significant challenges, including experiences in the care system, mental health difficulties, and past trauma.
We provide a calm, trauma-informed environment where students can focus on building confidence, resilience, and essential skills.
We believe in individualized support that prioritises each student's growth academically, socially, and personally.
Your Role: Vocational Skills Supp ort: Guide students through vocational learning activities, helping them build practical skills that prepare them for further education or employment.
Academic Engagement: Assist students with engaging in core subjects, including Maths and English, fostering a positive learning experience and helping them stay focused on their academic journey.
Daily Support and Supervision: Provide structured support throughout the school day, assisting with routines, activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Trauma-Informed Practices: Use a sensitive, understanding approach that respects students' emotional needs and encourages positive social interactions.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teachers, mental health professionals, and other staff to deliver cohesive support tailored to each student's needs.

Previous SEMH Experience Advantageous: Experience in an SEMH setting is beneficial but not essential.

- £84+ per day, no agency fees or umbrella schemes paid weekly through PAYE.
