Role Overview: As a SEMH Learning Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to a student who requires specialised assistance in managing their behaviour and emotions.
Your dedication and expertise will empower the student to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
Responsibilities: Cultivate a nurturing and trusting relationship with the student.
Develop and implement effective strategies to address challenging behaviour and encourage positive interactions.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher and special education team to create personalised learning plans.
Deliver one-on-one guidance and support to enhance the student's social and emotional skills.
Requirements: Previous experience as a teaching assistant or mentor, preferably with a focus on SEMH support.
Comprehensive understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs, with the ability to implement targeted interventions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.
