Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM Nuttall are recruiting for a Section Engineer to join our growing team in the South West of England, specifically for new work with South West Water AMP 8, Lot 2 Sewage Waste.
This is initially a 5 year framework that offers excellent opportunities to those wishing to work within the Devon and Cornwall region.
We will require people who are flexible to work throughout Devon and Cornwall (company car / provided allowance).

Your mission Manage the preparation of 'as-built records' Assist with the scoping and establishment of logistics hubs Communicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercial staff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff operatives, suppliers, third parties and client representatives Maintaining high personal standards in health and safety and ensuring adoption of project safety and environmental initiatives Maintaining good working relations with delivery teams, support functions, client, designer, and supply chain Making sure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction and procurement of the works before commencement and during operations Ensuring that logistics requirements are accurately and clearly set out before work commences Confirming by recording in writing, on the same day, any verbal instructions received from the client / clients representative Ensuring that Inspection and Test Plans and checklist are in place and followed at the appropriate stages Preparing "look ahead" programmes and reports in conjunction with the supervisory staff, coordinated with overall site programme Ensuring that COSHH assessments are in place for materials to be used and that the requirements are being followed Ensuring that testing / sampling of materials is carried out as required by the specification Ensuring materials and workmanship meet the specification and maintaining appropriate records and proofs Undertaking performance and development reviews as required and following up on the development activities identified Ensure that comprehensive records of all resources employed on additional works are maintained and submitted for signature within 24 hours Producing waste reconciliation sheets on delivered materials within your work section and compare with tender allowances Assist in the recording and testing of and materials, i.e., reinforcement, formwork, drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
Route planning and use of VMS and Pod systems Checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate Maintain material and plant/equipment register Assist with the management of lifting operations Who are we looking for?
Degree, HND,HNC, NVQ in Construction/Engineering/Logistics or equivalent CSCS May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with an appropriate professional body.
SSSTS Understanding of consents, logistics, Vehicle Management Systems and traffic management.
Awareness of commercial processes.
Proven people and project management skills.
Team leader with technical and organisational skills.
The following are desirable requirements: Full driving licence.
