Would you like to support Secondary aged pupils with SEMH outside of a mainstream settings?
This tutor role will be ideal if you are a teacher with QTS, can teach English and or Maths up to GCSE level, and are looking for some flexible work.
This tutor role involves: Working with children who may have additional needs or are looked after children Building rapport and a good relationship with the pupils Providing educational sessions, face to face with children at their homes or a local area e.g., library Planning resources around the child's needs (typically for English and Maths, sometimes Science) Keeping the child engaged with tasks are essential in this role The location for this role will vary dependent on the need of the pupil but would be pre-agreed prior to commencement of the tuition.
All pupils for this role however will be based in the Northumberland so access to your own vehicle will be essential.
What are we looking for in a tutor?
Qualified Teacher Status Have experience working with children or young people Able to plan and deliver core and cross-curricular engaging sessions Applying skills to get pupils education back up to speed Managing and implementing different behaviour strategies Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback.
This can be done via assessments.
Desirable – SEN experience To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
