Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Chelmsford Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role: We are seeking caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join our Secondary Schools in the Chelmsford and surrounding areas.
As a key member of staff, you will work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one or group support to students, helping them to overcome learning barriers and achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to SEND students in a classroom setting or through one-on-one interventions Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student Encourage student independence and confidence in their learning journey Requirements: Experience working with SEND students in a school setting (desired but not essential) A genuine passion for helping students with additional needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet individual student needs Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEND training (preferred but not essential) What We Offer: A supportive and friendly working environment Opportunities for professional development and SEND-specific training A rewarding role where you can make a real difference in students' lives Flexible working options If you are committed to helping SEND students thrive and are ready to be part of a compassionate and forward-thinking school community, we would love to hear from you.
