Key Responsibilities: Deliver Engaging Lessons: Provide dynamic and engaging lessons across a range of subjects (or a subject specialism) to ensure continuity in students' education during teacher absences.
Adapt to Various School Settings: Teach across various secondary schools in Plymouth, managing different classrooms and adhering to each school's policies and guidelines.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline and ensure a positive learning environment, managing behaviour in line with the schools' policies.
Follow Lesson Plans: Deliver pre-set lesson plans or create your own, depending on the school's requirements.
Ensure that students stay on track with the curriculum.
Assess and Support: Mark student work where required, and provide feedback to schools on progress or any areas of concern.
Build Positive Relationships: Develop rapport with students, school staff, and other stakeholders to promote a positive educational environment.
Safeguarding: Follow safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for teaching in secondary schools.
Experience in Secondary Education: Proven experience teaching at secondary level, with the ability to manage classrooms and deliver lessons effectively.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel to different schools within Plymouth and adapt to varied school environments and timetables.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication with students, school staff, and administrators to ensure a smooth teaching experience.
Classroom Management Skills: Confidence in handling classroom behaviour and implementing school policies effectively.
Enhanced DBS Check: Must have or be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
