The Role: We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join one of our Secondary SEND Schools in Newham.
You will support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
The class you will be working on will be a mixed SLD KS4 class where you will work with student's sensory and communication development 6 students in a class with 4 Teaching assistants to support.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of students with SEND.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff.
Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress.
Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support student development.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
Strong knowledge of SEND practices and inclusive education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
